75 Bank Street is a renovation of a duplex apartment in a historic West Village building. The project reconfigures the interior layout through a new central stair, creating a stronger connection between the two levels and bringing more light and openness into the home.
The design preserves the character of the original structure while introducing modern interventions. Exposed brick and existing details are complemented by new millwork, a streamlined kitchen, and integrated storage that clarify and refine the living spaces. The upper floor is transformed into an open kitchen, dining, and living area with expanded daylight, while the lower floor is organized into bedrooms and private quarters.
Material contrasts reinforce the balance between old and new: oak floors and a warm wood stair core are paired with minimalist black stone and cabinetry in the kitchen, while white walls maximize brightness throughout. The result is a contemporary apartment renovation that enhances everyday life while respecting the building’s historic fabric.
